Food Pantry Grand Opening

Food Pantry Grand Opening

The MATC Student Resource Center (SRC) located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus in Room S215 will offer all current students access to a food pantry beginning Wednesday, November 17.

Students just need to bring their student ID card to receive free, prepared meals to heat for lunch and dinner. Students also can select essential foods, beverages and snacks to bring home, which are donated by Feeding America and presented in a market-style shopping experience.

Culinary students enrolled in MATC’s Food Advocacy course have donated their talents to provide their peers the high quality, delicious meals and will be on-site to distribute food, answer students’ questions about the meals and share recipe ideas.

The pantry will be open to students Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Students are invited to stop by weekly to fill shopping bags, but hungry students in search of a freshly prepared lunch or dinner will never be turned away. At the SRC, we feel that all students should be afforded access to healthy foods that fuel their bodies and minds.
