About the Health Unit Coordinator Diploma
Description
Enter the healthcare field in a non-direct patient care role. This program prepares you for responsibilities such as order transcription, clerical support functions and customer service interactions. Technical courses are offered via flexible hybrid (in-class/online) instructional format.
Positions are available in hospitals, long-term care facilities and clinics. The Wisconsin Technical College System in October 2019 identified this profession as the No. 1 in-demand area of the Top 50 jobs.
You can earn the Healthcare Customer Service certificate on your way to completing this diploma. Your credits can be applied to completing the Healthcare Services Management associate degree.
Additional program details: Personal attributes that will contribute to success in this profession include: effective, professional communication and interpersonal skills; maintaining patient confidentiality; conscientious work habits as related to punctuality and attendance; empathy; and the ability to multitask as well as work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
