We are excited to work with you to get started in the funeral service profession as a Wisconsin licensed funeral director’s apprentice.
Since November of 2018, the state of Wisconsin requires anyone seeking their funeral director’s apprentice license to complete a 16-hour training course. Our program faculty have been a part of the course development process and offers the course throughout the year.
The course meets for two days, 8 hours each day. Topics covered include all the foundational information an apprentice would need to be properly prepared to work at a funeral home. The course fee is around $92 and includes a course manual. The manual will be handed out at the start of the course.
Upon completion of the course exam, a certificate will be provided to the student to turn in to the state when applying for their apprentice license.
