Using the Duo App

USING THE DUO APP

To protect the college’s students and sensitive information, MATC is implementing a multi-factor authentication (MFA) system for all students to access Google applications including Gmail, calendars, individual and shared drives.

The first portion of the authentication process occurs when you login with your MATC userid and password. The second portion occurs via your smartphone or mobile device (tablet or DUO Fob) to verify your identity.

For Students

The recommended solution for MATC students is Duo – a free, downloadable smartphone app. Students may begin utilizing the Duo MFA process starting Wednesday, February 1.

All students will be required to use DUO MFA by April 2023.

For Employees

MATC uses Duo for Two-Factor Authentication, also known as MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) to provide an extra level of security to protect the college’s users and sensitive information.

Two-factor authentication, simply means you will be asked to take a second action to verify your identity when you log into a protected system.
