Professional Development Courses, Workshops, and Webinars
MATC offers a wide-range of professional development courses in a variety of delivery modes and durations as part of our efforts to design meaningful professional development that provides just-in-time training opportunities for you to explore what you need when you need it. All of MATC’s courses, workshops, and webinars are free to MATC faculty and eligible for FQAS hours, so that you can plan and develop your own professional development goals and outcomes.

Professional Development Scholarships for Faculty:
The Center for Teaching Excellence has limited funds for MATC full and part-time faculty to attend professional development events (conferences/workshops/webinars) related to student success and learning based on MATC’s Strategic Goals and Values (up to $200) or discipline-related conferences as a presenter (up to $500).
- Both, Full-time and Part-time faculty, are invited to apply for this scholarship while funds last.
- Awardees of the amount greater than $100 are required to present learned information to the colleagues.
- Preferences will be given to the first-time applicants and to those who present at the conferences.
- If you are interested, please email a College-sponsored Professional Development Agreement.
- A Pre-Approval for Travel and Travel Reimbursement form may also be needed. Please know that the Center can only reimburse up to the awarded amount according to MATC’s Travel and Expense Reimbursement Procedure (BB0901) and Policy (B0901).
Create Professional Development at MATC:
The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) oversees the development and implementation of faculty professional development opportunities. Our goal is to provide training that concentrates on teaching strategies and is pedagogically-focused. Courses and workshops are student-centered, research-based, and designed in response to classroom and institutional needs. Please send a 1-2 page proposal for your course or workshop development idea to cte@matc.edu.
