MATC PROMISE - APPLICATION REOPENED FOR HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2020

Free tuition for eligible students | Final Deadline: JUNE 30, 2021

To recognize the challenges faced by the high school Class of 2020 due to COVID-19, MATC has reopened the Promise application for eligible students! Students must have not attended any college since completing high school. Start with the interest form or read below to learn more.

By offering free tuition for eligible students, the MATC Promise for New High School Graduates is unlocking opportunity, making college a reality for students who never thought it was possible.

CLASS OF 2020

THE MATC PROMISE MEANS FREE TUITION FOR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS.

Eligible students earn up to 75 credits of free tuition — after other scholarships and grants are applied. The cost of books, program fees and equipment are not covered by the Promise program.

Get connected to an in-demand career in as little as one to two years – or start a four-year degree. Eligible students can continue on to a four-year degree through:

  • Promise completion programs at Lakeland University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Bucky’s Tuition Promise
  • Guaranteed admission agreements with Marquette University, Lakeland University, UW-Madison, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and over 35 more four-year partner colleges and universities

TO PARTICIPATE, YOU MUST:

☑ MEET ACADEMIC AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Eligible students:

  • Are eligible for federal Pell grants – your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) will determine this.
  • Earned a 2.0 GPA or higher in the first semester of senior year.
  • Graduated as part of the Class of 2020 from a high school in the MATC district, or live in the MATC district.
  • Did not attend any college since completing high school.

 ☑ Complete These Steps by JUNE 30, 2021 (Final Deadline)

  • Complete the Promise interest application.
  • Apply to MATC at matc.edu/apply. The application fee is waived for Summer and Fall 2021!
  • Complete a 2021-22 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). MATC’s federal school code is 003866.
  • Submit a final transcript by June 30, 2021.

 ☑ Final Steps

  • Submit final high school transcript with graduation date by June 30, 2021.
  • Enroll at MATC by selecting 12 to 15 financial aid-eligible credits in Fall 2021 (special exceptions may be provided).

To start in Summer 2021, you must also:

  • Complete a 2020-21 FAFSA by April 2, 2021 in addition to the 2021-22 FAFSA.
  • Submit transcript by April 2, 2021

How do I stay in the program?

  • Enroll in at least 12 credits each Fall and Spring semester
  • Earn at least a 2.0 semester GPA and complete 67% of credits attempted in the semester
  • Complete a FAFSA annually and continue to be eligible for federal Pell grants
