Food Pantry Opens at MATC's Walker's Square Education Center
On Tuesday, November 29, 2022 MATC students and administrators celebrated the opening of the Walker’s Square Food Pantry. The new food pantry is located in room 484 at the MATC Education Center at Walker’s Square, and is stocked with food, beverages and snacks for students to enjoy on campus or to take home. Feeding America donates the food, which is sorted and presented in a market-style shopping experience. Students are encouraged to stop by weekly to fill shopping bags to ensure they have the nourishment needed to aid in their college success. Food pantries are also located at all four MATC campuses, located in Downtown Milwaukee, Mequon, Oak Creek and West Allis. The MATC Student Resource Center manages all the pantries, and provides other supportive services to students in an effort to remove barriers to student success.
