NURSE PINNING SIGNIFIES COMPLETION - WINTER 2022

PREPARED TO ENTER THE NURSING PROFESSION - WINTER 2022

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at MATC’s Cooley Auditorium, candidates for graduation from the registered nursing degree programs and practical nursing technical diploma program received their pins, signifying completion of their studies and their eligibility to join the nursing profession. Seventy-one nursing students attended the ceremony. The Nurse Pinning Ceremony signifies that nursing education is completed and that the graduate is eligible to join the profession. The term “pinning” comes from the placement of the school’s nursing pin on the graduate. Julie Hutsick, nursing instructor, emceed the event. Students were addressed by Dr. Naydeen Gonzalez-De Jesus, Executive Vice President of Student Success, and Dr. Eric Gass, dean of the Healthcare Pathway. Two students also addressed the group, Devon Griesbach and MaLinda Rost.
