MATC DEI ENTITIES COLLABORATE TO RECOGNIZE DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

DR. KING HISTORIAN DR. CEDRIC BURROWS DELIVERS THOUGHT-PROVOKING PRESENTATION

On Friday, January 20, 2023, Dr. Cedric Burrows, Marquette University Associate Professor of English and 2020 Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Faculty Award winner, delivered “Rethinking Martin Luther King and Diversity in a Post-2020 World” to a group of nearly 150 MATC students and employees. The event was sponsored by MATC’s Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee to recognize Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. MATC’s President, Dr. Vicki Martin opened the event aligning the college’s DEI commitment with the teachings of Dr. King. Dr. Zacharia Nchinda, History Faculty & DEI Coordinator introduced Dr. Burrows. As part of an engaging exercise, attendees were invited to share their reflections about diversity.
