DSPS Military Pathways Grant Presentation
On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, the college was awarded a $49,425 Military Pathways Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). MATC is the only recipient this year. The check presentation, news conference and roundtable discussion were held at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus. Speakers included Vicki J. Martin, Ph.D., MATC president; Dawn Crim, Wisconsin DSPS secretary; and Wesley Walker, MATC’s veterans specialist. With the grant, MATC will assess the correlation between military experience and military occupational specialties with college-level course credit related to six programs that lead to licensure for civilian careers. A dedicated grant-funded veterans project specialist at the college will collaborate with military units, MATC faculty and key stakeholders to accomplish project outcomes.
