MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Area Technical College District Board Appointment Committee has appointed two individuals to the MATC District Board.
The MATC Board has the responsibility to ensure that MATC is meeting its commitment to increase the potential and productivity of the people in the district through the development and delivery of high-quality educational programs consistent with current and emerging educational and labor market needs.
The following individuals were appointed to the MATC District Board:
Dr. Waleed Najeeb is the medical director at Medpoint Family Care Center located in the city of Glendale. He graduated from Damascus University School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at New York Health and Hospitals. He also completed a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at John Marshall University and has over 30 years of experience as a physician in Wisconsin. Dr. Najeeb also currently serves as the chairman of the Accountable Care Coalition (ACO) of Southeast Wisconsin.
Gale Pence is the CEO and founder of Global Precision Industries Inc., located in the village of Germantown. He is an MATC alum and lifelong Milwaukee area resident. Mr. Pence founded Global Precision Industries in 2003 and has extensive manufacturing management and business development experience. He holds a degree in Applied Science - Industrial Engineering and is an active leader in the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. He also currently serves on a special task force of the Milwaukee 7 Economic Development Organization in partnership with the Brookings Institution - Global Cities Initiative.
Terms begin July 1, 2023, and expire June 30, 2026. The appointments are subject to approval by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.
Both men represent businesses with 15+ employees, with Pence from the manufacturing sector.
The Appointment Committee members included: David Crowley, Milwaukee County executive; Donald Kriefall, Washington County Board chairperson; Marcelia Nicholson, Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors chairperson; and Lee Schlenvogt, Ozaukee County Board chairperson.
