MILWAUKEE -- For the first time ever, the 6th-ranked  Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers Men’s Basketball team will be streamed on ESPN+.

In a battle of two ranked teams in the NJCAA Division II, the Stormers will take on the Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. The NJCAA Game of the Week will be live-streamed on the national platform ESPN+. The game will be played at the Bloechl Center at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, where the Bobcats play their home games.

“This game highlights two high-level programs along with the added bonus of a great in-state rivalry,” said Stormers head men’s basketball coach and Athletic Director Randy Casey. “I am honored that we have a chance to showcase our program on a national stage.”

The Stormers (22-4) are currently ranked 6th in the country by the NJCAA and have been ranked as high as 3rd this season.

“Rankings aside, that ESPN+ acknowledges the growing visibility and impact of the NJCAA is great for the league,” said Casey. “If you are a basketball fan I encourage you to tune in and you will see some talented, exciting student athletes having a great time.”

“This is an incredible opportunity for our program and the state of Wisconsin to showcase the level of basketball we have here on a national level,” said Bryant & Stratton College’s men’s basketball head coach JT Gritzmacher. “More than anything, I’m excited for the opportunity this gives our players. They’ve done everything right all season and now this puts them in a position to showcase their talents on a national level. We know what this game means for us and we’re extremely excited and fortunate for the opportunity."

The Bobcats (23-5) are ranked 18th in the NJCAA Division II. Bryant & Stratton College holds a 3-2 historical record over MATC in the cross-town rivalry.
