2019 Nearly 1,400 Students Graduated from MATC May 17

Milwaukee Area Technical College graduated nearly 1,400 students at its Spring Commencement May 17 at the UWM-Panther Arena. Students graduated from associate degree, technical diploma, apprentice and adult high school programs. Retired businessman and MATC alumnus Joe Delgadillo presented the keynote address and received MATC’s Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Delgadillo served as president and CEO of Wausau Financial Systems, a payments software and services company. Prior to that, he was president and CEO of Metavante, a technology-solutions company headquartered in Milwaukee. He attended MATC from 1971-1973, taking liberal arts and sciences courses in preparation for transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Chicago.

Dr. Vicki J. Martin, MATC president, officially conferred the degrees; and David 

Dull, chairperson of the MATC District Board, addressed the assembly. Other MATC board members in attendance were Erica Case, Mark Foley and Lisa Olson.

Cassidy Rodencal, who graduated with an associate degree in culinary arts, presented the student speech. She also received the Outstanding Associate Degree Graduate Award. Maya Kuntz, who earned a cosmetology diploma, received the Outstanding Technical Diploma Graduate Award. Manuela A. Wells eceived the Outstanding Adult High School Graduate Award.
