2019 GED/HSED Spring Graduation Held May 22 at MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus

Approximately 225 students were honored for earning General Educational Development (GED) certificates, High School Equivalency Diplomas (HSED) and Emerging Scholars diplomas May 22 at Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus. Held at Cooley Auditorium, the ceremony recognizes students graduating from MATC and 24 community-based educational partners.

Speakers included Kyle Hayden, MATC student services specialist and 2019 MATC Advisor of the Year; Dr. Vicki J. Martin, MATC president; Dr. Mohammad Dakwar, MATC provost; Dr. Regina O. Smith, MATC dean of the School of Pre-College Education; and Jacklyn Isabell, a graduate representing Literacy Services of Wisconsin. Dr. Martin officially conferred the degrees. Graduate Bianca Muniz, also representing Literacy Services of Wisconsin, made announcements. MATC student A’ja Alston sang the national anthem.
