129 Individuals Became Citizens in March 7, 2019 Ceremony at MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus

The Milwaukee U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office, along with Milwaukee Area Technical College and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, hosted a naturalization ceremony March 7, at MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus.

A total of 129 individuals representing 47 countries took the Oath of Allegiance and became U.S. citizens. Judge Beth E. Hanan, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin, presided.

The national anthem was sung by Russell Spahn, associate dean of MATC’s School of Technology and Applied Sciences. Dr. Regina Smith, dean, MATC’s School of Pre-College Education, welcomed the guests and Dr. Mohammad Dakwar, MATC provost, delivered remarks. Kay Leopold, field office director, USCIS Milwaukee Field Office, led the pledge of allegiance and offered the motion to accept the new citizens.
