2018 Milwaukee Bucks President Peter Feigin Presented Keynote at MATC Winter Commencement Dec. 14

Milwaukee Bucks President Peter Feigin presented the keynote speech at Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Winter Commencement Dec. 14 at the Miller High Life Theatre. More than 750 students graduated from associate degree, technical diploma, apprentice and adult high school programs. 

Feign was appointed president of the Bucks in Oct. 2014, spearheading the growth of the team’s business operations and leading the organization’s executive team. His efforts have resulted in substantial increases in attendance, ticket revenue, merchandise revenue, partnership sales and TV viewership. He was instrumental in driving the vision, financing, planning, design and construction of the new Fiserv Forum, a $524 million, 17,500-seat sports and entertainment venue in downtown Milwaukee that opened on Aug. 26, 2018. Feign was named the Milwaukee Biz Times CEO of the Year in 2015. He serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Public School Foundation, chairs the American Heart and Stroke Association, and co-chairs the African American Chamber of Commerce and the COA Parents of the Year.

Dr. Vicki J. Martin, MATC president, officially conferred the degrees and David Dull, chairperson of the MATC District Board, addressed the assembly. Other MATC board members Ashanti Hamilton, Lisa Olson and Kahri Phelps Okoro attended.

Artiola Henaj, who graduated with an associate degree in early childhood education, presented the student speech. Henaj also received the Outstanding Associate Degree Graduate Award. Dashia Jackson-Day, who received a paralegal studies diploma, received the Outstanding Technical Diploma Graduate Award. Lee Tou Thao received the Outstanding Adult High School Graduate Award.
