2018 Former Bucks Star Sidney Moncrief Presented Keynote Address at MATC's Spring Commencement May 11

Former Milwaukee Bucks star player Sidney Moncrief presented the keynote speech at Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Spring Commencement May 11 at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. Nearly 1,400 students graduated from associate degree, technical diploma, apprentice and adult high school programs.

Moncrief was a standout player for the Milwaukee Bucks from 1979-1989. He is a five-time NBA All Star, five-time member of the NBA All-Defensive team, a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and an NBA All-Pro. He served on the coaching staff of the Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors. He served as founder successful companies ranging from retail automotive to consulting. He is currently managing partner of Moncrief One Team, which specializes in team enhancement, leadership, youth development, fatherhood engagement and early childhood management.

Dr. Vicki J. Martin, MATC president, officially conferred the degrees. Graciela Maizonet, MATC board vice chairperson, also addresed the assembly. MATC board members Mark Foley and Mary Scheibel also attended.

Alexander J. Luckman, who graduated with an associate degree in biotechnology, presented the student speech. Luckman also received the Outstanding Associate Degree Graduate Award. Karina Olson, who earned a welding technical diploma, received the Outstanding Technical Diploma Graduate Award. Myriam Luciano received the Outstanding Adult High School Graduate Award.
