MPS GearUP 2026 Camp Sign-up Form

This summer camp series is designed to give students meaningful, hands-on experiences that build confidence, curiosity and early awareness of college and career pathways. Each camp blends interactive learning with real-world applications in a college setting so students can explore new interests, strengthen teamwork skills and begin thinking about their future in an engaging and supportive environment.

Camp Options

College Explorers Camp: Life Skills and College Awareness (August 3-5), 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. daily (Downtown Milwaukee Campus) — Rising Fifth and Sixth Graders

Students explore what college is, why it matters and how it connects to careers. Activities include campus scavenger hunts, meeting college staff, learning about teamwork, and practicing problem-solving and leadership skills.

College Explorers Camp Capacity: 25 students

Build It At MATC Camp: Engineering and Trade Skills (August 3-5), 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. daily (Downtown Milwaukee Campus) — Rising Sixth and Seventh Graders

Students become junior engineers as they explore how things are designed and built through hands-on challenges and team-based projects. Campers will build structures, test materials and solve real-world problems while using basic math and problem-solving skills. Through interactive activities inside a college setting, students discover how STEM connects to careers in construction, manufacturing and engineering technology labs

Build It At MATC Camp Capacity: 20 students

Let's Cook Camp: Culinary Arts (August 10-12), 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (Downtown Milwaukee Campus) — Rising Seventh and Eighth Graders

The Let's Cook Camp introduces students to culinary arts as a hands-on way to explore math and science concepts. Students will measure, mix, observe changes in ingredients and learn how heat, temperature and time affect food. Activities emphasize following directions, teamwork and problem-solving while reinforcing foundational academic skills. Students will engage in safe, age-appropriate kitchen and lab-style activities that spark curiosity and creativity. The camp highlights how math and science are used every day in culinary careers and other applied science fields.

Gourmet Gear Up Camp Capacity: 15 students

Brave Responders Camp: Fire & Emergency Services (August 10-12), 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (Oak Creek Campus) — Rising Seventh and Eighth Graders

Students explore the exciting world of fire protection and emergency response through interactive, hands-on activities. Campers will learn about fire safety, basic emergency preparedness, teamwork and how first responders protect communities. Activities may include safety simulations, equipment demonstrations, teamwork challenges and basic rescue scenario games designed to build critical thinking and communication skills. Students will also learn the importance of responsibility, leadership and staying calm in emergencies while gaining exposure to real-world public safety careers in a fun and age-appropriate environment.

Brave Responders Camp Capacity: 20 students
