Office of Community Impact
We’re here to help! OCI is where you can ask questions, find support and feel connected as you work toward accomplishing all your goals at MATC.
OCI supports student success by connecting you to resources, relationships and opportunities that help you feel welcome, stay in school and graduate with a certificate, diploma or degree.
The office serves all MATC students, especially those who might benefit from additional academic, financial or community-based support.
OCI helps students feel connected, informed and supported throughout their MATC journey by offering:
Peer Mentoring and Leadership Development
Trained peer mentors will help students navigate higher education with confidence by supporting academic planning, goal-setting, awareness of campus resources and building meaningful connections at MATC.
Intercultural and Campus Programming
Through OCI, all MATC students have opportunities for cultural engagement and community-building across all MATC campuses. In addition, the college uses the Intercultural Development Inventory tool to help employees understand their approach to cultural differences and develop intercultural competence.
Strategic Community Partnerships
OCI collaborations with nonprofit organizations, civic partners and community groups that create leadership pathways, service opportunities and hands-on learning experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom.
We are proud to partner with these local organizations:
MENTOR Greater Milwaukee
United Community Center (UCC)
African American Leadership Alliance of Milwaukee (AALAM)
Chabad on Campus of Milwaukee
HoChunk Nation Milwaukee Branch Office
