Breaking down barriers for students with past MATC balances
The Spring 2026 Restart application is now open!
MATC ReStart provides a scholarship for eligible returning students to pay off up to $1,500 of a past-due balance owed to the college for items such as tuition, books and other fees.
ReStart is breaking down the barriers that stand between you and your dreams of going back to MATC.
Your scholarship or grant may be taxable if used for non-educational expenses like housing, childcare, or food. Tax laws vary, so consult a tax professional to determine your specific situation. It is your responsibility to report taxable income to the IRS.
What are the ELIGIBILITY requirements for the program?
Students must:
- Have not attended MATC any of the following semesters: Fall 2025, Summer 2025, Spring 2025 (ie your last attendance must have been Fall 2024 or earlier)
- Have earned at least 6 college level credits at MATC already
- Have not earned an associate's degree or higher already
- Have a past-due balance owed to the college of $1,500 or less from pre-Fall 2024 (note: if you meet all other criteria EXCEPT your balance is over $1,500 -- you could still potentially qualify!)
