About the Diesel and Powertrain Servicing Diploma
DESCRIPTION
This technical diploma program combines interactive, hands-on training modules, cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art facilities to teach the fundamentals of diesel engine operation, air and hydraulic brake systems, and electrical systems.
By focusing on real-world applications, program graduates will master advanced troubleshooting techniques and enter the workforce with confidence in their technical skills.
Graduates can pursue career opportunities in construction, marine, energy, agriculture, government, trucking and distribution, manufacturing, and warehousing.

Automotive Maintenance Technician
Expand your employment options by gaining skills to service and repair the drive train, and electrical and mechanical systems of automobiles through this program. Co-op credit may be an option.
Automotive Technology - Comprehensive
Bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance will be taught on automobiles and light trucks. The Automotive Technology programs are: Ford ASSET (Automotive Student Service Educational Training), MOPAR CAP (Career Automotive Program) and CART (Comprehensive Automotive Repair Technology). Manufacturer credentials are earned in ASSET and CAP programs.

- Demonstrate preventive maintenance skills relative to checking, lubricating and making necessary adjustments and minor repairs
- Apply skills in specialized test equipment and machine tools
- Demonstrate accuracy in identifying component parts and assemblies
- Apply skills in troubleshooting and repairing engines, drive components and electrical components
Career Outlook
In the transportation and construction equipment industries, there is steady demand for truck and heavy equipment mechanics for positions with the many dealerships, distributors, independents, fleets and companies employing heavy equipment.
Typical job titles of positions available to program graduates are diesel mechanic, truck mechanic, service technician and construction equipment mechanic. Placement can also be found as engine test technician, engineering assistant, diesel technician and sales/service technician.
