MATC Winter Commencement Held Dec. 15 at Miller High Life Theatre

Milwaukee Area Technical College held its winter commencement at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at the Miller High Life Theatre. More than 750 students graduated from associate degree, technical diploma, apprentice and adult high school programs.

Greg Heichelbech, who has held executive positions with the REV Group, Inc.; BRP; and Triumph Motorcycle America, Ltd.; was the keynote speaker. He also has held sales and marketing positions with Harley-Davidson Motor Company; Buell Motorcycle Company; APW, Inc.; and Generac Power Systems. He graduated from MATC with an associate degree in automotive mechanics technology. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and an executive master of business administration from Loyola University in Chicago. Heichelbech also received MATC’s Distinguished Alumnus Award at the ceremony. The award was given for professional and personal achievement, community service and leadership.

Dr. Vicki J. Martin, MATC president, officially conferred the degrees; and David A. Dull, chairperson of the MATC District Board, addressed the assembly. MATC board member Dr. Lisa Olson also helped congratuate the graduates.

Randy Yocum, who graduated with an associate degree in music occupations presented the student speech. Yocum received the Outstanding Associate Degree Graduate Award. Grace Griffith, who earned an office technology technical diploma, received the Outstanding Technical Diploma Graduate Award. Pazoo C. Vang received the Outstanding Adult High School Graduate Award.
