Milwaukee Area Technical College launched a new Student Resource Center Nov.14, housed on the Eighth Floor of Foundation Hall. Many community-based support services are located at the center for the convenience of MATC students.

The Center for Driver’s License Recovery and Employability offices and ResCare, which provides assistance with Food Share and bus transportation, will remain in the eighth floor location. New services include Community Advocates for energy and rent assistance; Hunger Task Force, which administers the MATC Downtown Milwaukee Campus food pantry; and Interchange, which offers a full food pantry. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee also will offer transition and enrollment services and FAFSA assistance to MATC students who wish to transfer to UWM.

Direct referrals to other community-based partners, such as St. Ben’s, Legal Aide and Journey House also will be offered through the center.

For more information, contact Christine Woda, MATC coordinator, grants and resource development, at (414) 297-6402.
