
MATC HSI Day of Engagement: Collective Efforts for Hispanic Students
As an emerging Hispanic Serving Institution, we are dedicated to promoting educational excellence, fostering community engagement, and supporting the academic success of our students. The theme of this year’s conference is “Collective Efforts for Hispanic Students,” which aims to bring together higher education leaders, faculty, staff, students, and community members to discuss strategies and best practices for advancing educational opportunities and outcomes for Hispanic students.
Highlights of Presentations:
- Advancing our Mission towards HSI at MATC, by Dr. Patricia Najera, and Dr. Cristina Rodriguez (Co-Leads). Learn about innovative strategies and initiatives across the college.
- Bringing Statistics to Life: Hispanics Well-Being in Milwaukee by Nancy Hernandez, President of Hispanic Collaborative. Learn about the most recent data related to the health, wealth, education, employment, and quality of life for our Latinx communities as compared to their counterparts in the top 50 metro areas in the U.S.
- Presidential Panel Discussion with five colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System to enrich the dialogue about how our institution is advancing the mission of serving underrepresented Hispanic students. Invited Presidents to participate from the following 2-year colleges: MATC, Gateway, Madison, Fox Valley, and Northeast Technical Colleges.
