EL MERCADITO is on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Harbor View Plaza, located at 600 E Greenfield Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53204.

Latinx Unidos (LU) is a student-led organization that strives to unite MATC students with the community to promote Unity, Culture y La Causa. This active organization, with more than 20 members, has the mission of encouraging Latinx students not only to continue with their journey in education but also to become active leaders of our community. This year in March 2022, student leaders from Latinx Unidos had the opportunity to travel to Nevada to attend their first Latinx conference titled Practices that Transform Institutions for Latinx/o/a Communities, organized by AAHHE. This experience inspired LU students not only to continue with their education but also to continue to seek professional and leadership development, including conferences that transform. With this goal in mind, LU students are organizing a fundraising event EL MERCADITO to bring local Latinx business together for a cultural celebration and to support funding their participation in the HACU’s National Conference, Championing Hipanic Higher Education Success, in October 2022 in San Diego, California.
