MATC Scholarships - AVAILABLE TO APPLY NOW 

The Checota MATC Scholarship Program provides students the chance to accelerate careers. This full-ride scholarship is designed to remove financial barriers so students can earn a technical diploma or certificate and advance in careers faster.

Eligible students earn up to 75 credits of free tuition — after other scholarships and grants are applied — to complete an in-demand associate degree or technical diploma.

MATC ReStart provides a scholarship for eligible returning students to pay off up to $1,500 of a past-due balance owed to the college for items such as tuition, books and other fees. ReStart is breaking down the barriers that stand between you and your dreams of going back to MATC.

FROEDTERT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Froedtert Memorial Hospital Scholarship application for the 2023-24 academic year is currently closed.  The application for the 2024-25 academic year will open in Spring 2024.

The Froedtert Memorial Hospital Scholarship is a new scholarship that provides MATC Healthcare Pathway students with help in covering costs necessary to complete their degree including tuition, required books and supplies, and licensure exams. This scholarship — which also includes a stipend, an incentive to keep progressing toward your degree, and access to emergency grant funding — is designed to help remove financial barriers to assist students in completing their degrees and enter the healthcare field. This scholarship is available to MATC Healthcare Pathway students pursuing an associate degree who have successfully petitioned in their program of study. Scholarships are limited in number based on available funds.

2024-25 ACADEMIC YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS

The general scholarship application for the 2023-24 academic year is now closed.  The 2024-25 Academic Year General Application for returning students will open on Wednesday, January 31st and close on March Sunday, March 17th.  Applications for new students will open on Wednesday, May 1st and will close on Friday, May 31st.

Scholarships are a great way to help pay for college and are one of many ways that you can fund your education. The MATC Foundation awards scholarships based on academic merit, leadership/participation, financial need, or any combination of these.

PLEASE NOTE: The MATC Foundation strives to help as many students with scholarships as we can, but we receive more scholarship applications than we have funds to award.  No student is guaranteed a scholarship. 

1. Scholarships are not awarded on a first come-first submitted basis. Take your time to complete applications and essays.  Proper grammar and spelling are extremely important when completing the essays. Incomplete applications are not considered for awards.
2. If you are unable to complete the application in one sitting, you can save it and go back and complete the application.
3. Foundation scholarships are awarded based upon a variety of factors including program major, academics, residency, financial need, and overall content of your essays/application.  
4. Only one application per student is necessary and only one Foundation scholarship will be awarded to any student. Most Foundation scholarships are $500 per fall and spring semesters. 
5. Your application will be reviewed. If you are chosen to receive a scholarship for the 2024-2025 Academic Year you will be notified through your MATC student Gmail account.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do you define new students or returning students?
   A new student is anyone who has not been a MATC college student in the past. The student could be a recent graduate of a high school or someone who has been out of high school for a while but has never enrolled at MATC. A new, incoming student could also be someone transferring from another college or university to MATC. Returning students are those students who are currently attending classes for an associate Degree or technical diploma at MATC or had previously attended classes at MATC.
2. Is there a minimum GPA or credit requirement? 
   Yes, a minimum GPA of 2.0 and enrollment in at least six credits is required to apply for a scholarship. However, all scholarships have criteria that were set up by the benefactor detailing what is required by a student to be awarded the scholarship. The student is applying for all scholarships listed by completing the MATC Foundation general scholarship application. 
3. Do you adhere firmly to the application deadline?
   Yes.
4. Can non-US Citizens apply?
   International students and non-U.S. citizens are welcome to apply.
5. What do I need to complete once I’ve received a scholarship offer?
   To accept a scholarship offer, there are 4 questions that MUST be submitted or the scholarship award will not be given. The questions and answers will be forwarded to the donor of your scholarship should you be awarded one.
6. I received a scholarship, but the money has not been applied to my account. What should I do?
   Scholarship awards are generally applied to charges for tuition, fees, and books directly through the financial aid office; any remaining balance is the responsibility of the student. Students will need to check with the financial aid office to see if any payments are still due following their scholarship award.

BECAS DE MATC: YA PUEDE PRESENTAR SU SOLICITUD 

El Programa de Becas Checota de MATC (Checota MATC Scholarship Program) da a los estudiantes la posibilidad de acelerar sus carreras profesionales. TENGA EN CUENTA LO SIGUIENTE: En MATC Foundation, nos esforzamos por ayudar mediante becas a todos los estudiantes que podamos, pero recibimos más solicitudes de becas que los fondos de los que disponemos para otorgarlas. No se garantiza que ningún estudiante reciba una beca.

1. Las becas no se otorgan por orden de presentación. Tómese su tiempo con las solicitudes y los ensayos. Cuidar la gramática y la ortografía es sumamente importante al redactar los ensayos. Las solicitudes incompletas no se considerarán para otorgar becas.

Preguntas Frecuentes

1. ¿Cómo se define a los estudiantes nuevos y a los estudiantes que regresan?
   Un estudiante nuevo es cualquier persona que no haya sido estudiante universitario de MATC en el pasado. El estudiante podría ser un graduado reciente de una escuela secundaria o alguien que terminó la escuela secundaria hace tiempo, pero nunca se inscribió en MATC. Un estudiante nuevo entrante también podría ser alguien que se traslada a MATC desde otra universidad. Los estudiantes que regresan son estudiantes que actualmente asisten a clases para obtener un título de asociado o un diploma técnico de MATC o que previamente asistieron a clases en MATC.
2. ¿Hay requisitos de promedio general mínimo o de créditos? 
   Sí. Para solicitar una beca, es necesario tener un promedio general (Grade Point Average, GPA) mínimo de 2.0 y estar inscrito en al menos seis créditos. Sin embargo, en todas las becas existen criterios establecidos por el benefactor mediante los que se especifica lo que se requiere de un estudiante para que se le otorgue la beca. El estudiante solicita todas las becas que se mencionan completando la solicitud general de beca de MATC Foundation. 
3. ¿Se respeta estrictamente la fecha límite de presentación de solicitudes?
   Sí.
4. ¿Pueden presentar una solicitud los ciudadanos no estadounidenses?
   Los estudiantes internacionales y los ciudadanos no estadounidenses pueden presentar una solicitud.
5. ¿Qué debo completar cuando reciba un ofrecimiento de beca?
   Para aceptar una oferta de beca, DEBE responder cuatro preguntas o no se otorgará la beca. Las preguntas y respuestas se enviarán al donante de su beca si se le otorga una.
6. Recibí una beca, pero el dinero no se transfirió a mi cuenta. ¿Qué debo hacer?
   Las becas suelen aplicarse a cargos de matrícula, tarifas y libros, directamente mediante la Oficina de Ayuda Económica (Financial Aid Office), y cualquier saldo restante es responsabilidad del estudiante. Los estudiantes deberán consultar en la Oficina de Ayuda Económica para saber si se deben pagos después de que se le otorgue la beca.
