Academic Opportunities

Honor Societies
Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is committed to providing students with the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements. Each year, the Office of Student Life (OSL) coordinates the implementation of programs that recognize students for their academic excellence and service to others.

Accelerated Programs
Accelerated programs are designed for full-time working adults. These programs are structured for minimal commitment of time in-class and on-campus, giving students the flexibility for jobs, families and other responsibilities.

For High School Students
MATC offers an exciting way to begin your college education -- and earn college and high school credit -- by taking courses while still in high school.

Online Learning
Distance Learning -- including online courses -- allows students to take courses at their convenience or at sites near their home or work.

Study Abroad (International Education)
You can study abroad while attending MATC! We focus on short-term, credit-based, faculty-led programs over summer or winter break. Each program is run by an instructor with a passion for international travel and global issues. Students can expect pre-departure orientation, coursework, cultural immersion and self-discovery.

MATC Gap Year
Not sure what to do after high school? Thinking about taking a gap year? That’s okay!
Before you make any big plans, you might want to learn more about yourself and try out a few things first. And you can – during the MATC Gap Year program.
