The MATC Promise: Free tuition for eligible students

By offering free tuition for eligible students, the MATC Promise for New High School Graduates is unlocking opportunity, making college a reality for students who never thought it was possible. Apply by February 1, 2019 to start next fall!

The MATC Promise for Adults provides eligible students up to 75 credits of free tuition -- after other scholarships and grants are applied -- to complete an in-demand associate degree.

Priority Deadline: December 7, 2018

Final Deadline: January 12, 2019

Applicants who meet the priority deadline will receive a response by December 21

Eligible students:

  • Are 24 years or older as of December 31, 2018 and live in the MATC district

  • Have an annual family income of $56,000 or less (based on federal student aid application)

  • Have earned at least six college credits but have not earned an associate or bachelor’s degree -- students must have been out of college for at least two years

Ready to apply?

Take these steps:

  • Complete an MATC application by December 7 (priority) or January 12 (final) -- you’ll get an MATC student ID when the application is complete

  • Complete a Promise interest application by December 7 (priority) or January 12 (final) -- be sure to use your new MATC student ID

  • Complete the 2018-2019 federal student aid application (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov by December 7 (priority) or January 12 (final)

  • Enroll in at least six credits toward an associate degree program linked to a top 50 in-demand career
