Summer courses at Milwaukee Area Technical College will be consolidated and offered at the college's Downtown Milwaukee Campus. There are select courses that will be offered at regional campuses (i.e. Pre-College, accelerated business, criminal justice, fire protection).

In addition to the course consolidation, the Mequon, Oak Creek and West Allis campus Libraries, Academic Support Centers and Student Accommodations Centers will be closed during the summer. Students should contact Student Accommodations staff at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus (414-297-6750) to arrange for services. Regional campus Student Services offices will have special summer hours. Bookstores will be open during limited daytime hours.

MATC will closely monitor the cost savings and impact on both students and staff. Please check your MATC email for updates and additional information.

Why is MATC moving all of its classes to the Downtown Milwaukee campus?
MATC is facing a budget deficit of $23.4 million for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. College staff members are identifying ways to reduce the deficit without diminishing the services provided to students.

I am not taking summer courses, but have questions about the fall semester. What should I do?
Student services personnel will staff the regional campuses during the summer. Hours are:
     Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4 p.m.
     Wednesday, 7:45 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Hours for the Downtown Milwaukee Campus Welcome Center are:
     Monday-Thursday, 7:45 a.m. – 6 p.m.
     Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Where can I buy my books for my summer classes?
     For sections meeting at the Milwaukee campus and for ALL internet sections textbooks will be located at the Downtown Milwaukee Bookstore ONLY.
 
     For accelerated sections textbooks will be located at the campus where the class meets ONLY.
 
     For Basic Skills and ESL classes textbooks will be located at the campus where the class meets ONLY.

Where do I park downtown?
Student parking is available at the Bradley Center and 8th and State structures. There also is ample parking at meters and surface lots in the area surrounding the Downtown Milwaukee campus.

There aren’t many restaurants near the Downtown Milwaukee campus. Where can I get something to eat?
There are a number of excellent restaurants near the Downtown Milwaukee campus. Additionally, MATC’s Home Plate, Stormers Café and Self-Serve Bar will have special summer hours. You can make your own salad, have a hot entrée, or grab a smoothie before, between or after classes. Food service is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 1:30 on Fridays during the summer session.

I haven’t taken classes at the Downtown Milwaukee campus. Do I have to?
A very limited number of courses will still be offered at the regional campuses. For the most part, though, all courses will be at the Downtown Milwaukee campus. There will be additional online courses offered during the summer term.
