Multicultural Affairs
The Department of Multicultural Affairs is dedicated to serving minority students through recruitment and retention services. Multicultural Affairs promotes diversity and multicultural understanding at MATC and is responsible for implementing programs for minority student access and retention.
Multicultural Affairs staff members are advocates for current and prospective minority and limited English proficient students. The staff is concerned with helping students resolve educational, vocational, financial, and personal needs to help them successfully complete their program of study and graduate. The staff works with minority students on admissions, registration, class scheduling, financial aid issues, and more.
Within the department are five offices - American Indian, African-American Affairs, Hispanic Affairs, and International Students. These offices are staffed with individuals who are culturally sensitive to the services needed by minority students.
