Bricklaying/Masonry is a one-year diploma program starting in the fall of each academic year. The program is designed to prepare you to enter the masonry trade, with courses and skills directed at fulfilling the entry-level requirements of masonry contractors. The increase in construction in the Milwaukee area has resulted in a need for bricklayers. Employers expect you to install brick and block efficiently, read blueprints, and know common methods of construction. Core skills include physical strength, manual dexterity and an ability to work with others. After successful completion of the diploma program, you may enter an apprenticeship program with the Milwaukee Bricklayers Joint Apprenticeship Committee.
