Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions - GENERAL

Who can access my account information?

Certain information is publicly available regarding your account at MATC. Please refer to the Student Handbook for specific information.  If you would like to allow someone access to your account information (i.e., parent, spouse, etc.) you must fill out an Authorization to Release Information form. This form can be filled out at any of our Welcome Center desks and is only valid for the current school year. A new form must be filled out for each school year. Without this form on file, we cannot release detailed account information to a parent, spouse, etc. if they call or come in with questions on your behalf.

Frequently Asked Questions - ADMISSIONS

What is my Admissions application status?

The admissions process generally takes 4-6 weeks from when your application is submitted until you have been admitted to your program. (Prompt submission of your fees and transcripts will expedite your processing time.) Once we have received your application, application fees and high school transcripts, we will send you information on coming in for Accuplacer testing, if it is required. Your application will be reviewed and you will be sent a letter letting you know your admission status. A counseling and program planning session will be scheduled for you to assist with selection of your first semester course work.
Please refer to our Admissions page.

What if I want to change my program or add an additional program?

Please fill out and submit a Program Change Form to change your program or to add an additional program. This form can be picked up at any Welcome Center location or you can print the Program Change Form and mail or fax the form to admissions at 700 W State St., Milwaukee, WI 53233  (fax# 414-297-7800). If you are switching to a program that requires a criminal background check and have not paid that fee previously, please include the $20 payment. This request will be effective for the next semester.

Frequently Asked Questions - REGISTRATION

I am not a program student but want to sign up for a class. How do I register?

If you have never taken classes at MATC you will need to call 414-297-MATC (6282), or come in person, to create an account. Once an account has been set up for you, you will be able to log in and register online through our website.

I forgot/don't know how to log into INFOnline.

In order to use INFOnline, visit   http://infonline.matc.edu/ Once you are taken to the INFOnline main page you will need your User ID and password.  There are links at the bottom to obtain this information. If you are still not able to log in, please call the Help Desk at 414-297-6541, submit a request to reset your password online at http://matc.edu/TecHELP/GotARequest.cfm  or come in to any Welcome Center to have your password reset.

I can't log in to Blackboard, how do I get help with my password?

Your password for blackboard needs to be updated every 120 days. If you are not able to log in, you can contact our help desk at 414-297-6541 or request a password reset online at http://matc.edu/TecHELP/GotARequest.cfm

I have a new address, how do I change it?

Current students can log in to their INFOnline account and from the student menu, under User Account, select "Address/Phone Change" to update your contact information. New/Prospective students can update their address in person at any campus Welcome Center location.

Where can I print out another copy of my schedule on campus?

Any Academic Support Center can assist you with printing. Please make note of our "Pay for Print" policy in effect now, see http://matc.edu/matc_news/2011_PayforPrint.cfm  for more information.
From home, just use INFOnline to print your class schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions - FINANCIAL AID

For general Financial Aid information, please visit the Financial Aid home page or view/print the Financial Aid Handbook

I was selected for verification for my Financial Aid, what is the status?

Verification processing can take several weeks.  As long as we have a complete FAFSA application and all requested documents have been turned in, you are able to register for and attend your classes and get your books using a deferment, if your anticipated financial aid is enough to cover your tuition and books. Once your verification is complete, your award letter will be available on INFOnline.

When will my Financial Aid refund check be mailed out?

Please check the Financial Aid Important Dates Calendar  http://matc.edu/student/resources/financial_aid/impdates.cfm  If you are in verification, once that process has been completed, your financial aid will be awarded and, if you have a refund due to you, it will be mailed out about 2-3 weeks after your award letter is posted.

Is Financial Aid available for summer classes?

Please complete the Summer Financial Aid Application http://matc.edu/student/resources/financial_aid/financialaidforms.cfm to see if you will have financial aid available for summer classes.
