WINTER COMMENCEMENT 2022 RECOGNIZES GRADUATES

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MATC WINTER 2022 GRADUATES

On Sunday, December 18, 2022, more than 850 MATC students were honored as candidates for graduation from the college’s associate degree, technical diploma, apprentice and Adult High School programs. In addition, 14 candidates for graduation served in the U.S. military and received red, white and blue cords from the college. The commencement was held at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum. The keynote speaker was Assistant Chief of Milwaukee Fire Department, Sharon P. Purifoy-Smoots. Assistant Chief Purifoy-Smoots has more than 19 years of service with the department. MATC President Vicki J. Martin officially conferred the degrees. Iris Sanchez, Outstanding Associate Degree Graduate, presented the student speech. Her remarks included “how limitless courage plays an important role in our lives and how unwavering perseverance toward goals and dreams delivers positive results.” Sanchez has appeared on the president’s list four times, the vice president of learning’s list twice and is in the Scholastic Honors Program, National Society of Leadership and Success and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
