May 21, 2012 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Students with Disabilities Get Help Facing Workaday World http://www.jsonline.com/news/education/students-with-disabilities-get-help-facing-workaday-world-hu5eg1c-152365345.html Students with cognitive disabilities from Homestead High School are attending a pilot program called STRIVE (Students Taking Responsibility for Independence and Vocational Education) at MATC's Mequon Campus. They received classroom training in job skills, tour businesses via the Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary, and work at campus jobs to learn job skills. The program also provides an opportunity for the students to get exposure to college life.

Two charging stations are located at MATC campuses.

Twenty high schoolers from throughout the state will compete in diagnosing new Ford vehicles bugged with multiple problems. Winners go on to the national competition and earn scholarships to MATC's Ford ASSET automotive technologies program.
