MATC Winter Commencement
Held Dec. 21 at U.S. Cellular Arena
MILWAUKEE (Dec. 22, 2011) - Milwaukee Area Technical College held its winter commencement Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the U.S. Cellular Arena, 400 W. Kilbourn Ave. More than 700 students graduated from the college's associate degree, technical diploma, apprentice and adult high school programs. MATC President Dr. Michael L. Burke officially conferred the degrees.
Julia Taylor, president of the Greater Milwaukee Committee (GMC), served as the keynote speaker.
Erica Wilkie, who graduated with an associate degree in meeting and event management, delivered the student address and received the Outstanding Associate Degree Graduate Award. Deanna Haas, who graduated from the practical nursing diploma program, received the Outstanding Technical Diploma Graduate Award. Katie B. Fosdick received the Outstanding Adult High School Student Award.
