MILWAUKEE (August 10, 2009) – Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) has chosen U.S. Bank to provide a full-service onsite bank and to be its campus bank card partner.
This new partnership includes a variety of U.S. Bank financial products and services for students, faculty and staff that will be offered through U.S. Bank’s new campus branch, which opened August 10 on the third floor of the Student Center, located at 7th and State Streets. U.S. Bank will operate an ATM at MATC’s downtown campus in the Student Center and another at MATC’s Mequon campus.
In addition, U.S. Bank is providing the banking function for the school’s multi-use identification card, named the Stormer Pass in a nod to the school’s athletic teams. The card allows students access to a variety of MATC services, including paying for parking at the nearby Bradley Center lot. For cardholders who choose to open an account at U.S. Bank, these new identification cards will double as their ATM card both on and off campus, and can be used as a debit card at merchants in the United States that accept Visa PIN debit. All incoming students will be issued their Stormer Passes upon registration. Returning students must exchange their former Campus Cards for new Stormer Passes before the start of the Fall semester.
“Partnering with U.S. Bank will result in a host of convenient services for our students,” said MATC Interim Vice President for Student Services Al Pinckney
Bill Bertha, U.S. Bank Milwaukee market president, said, “We’re thrilled to partner with MATC because of the tremendous education and value-added jobs it provides to our area.” He noted, “Despite the difficult economic environment, U.S. Bank is safe and sound and excited to continue to invest in the community by opening our 61st location in the Milwaukee area and 117th office in the state. Our new full-service MATC office will offer loan and credit products and services specifically geared toward the campus community.”
The new MATC U.S. Bank office is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Tuesday, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Customers can open a free checking account with no minimum balance, no monthly maintenance fee, cash back rewards, free Internet Banking and free Bill Pay along with no ATM fees for withdrawals at a U.S. Bank ATM or any ATM linked to the MoneyPass network.
