ASSOCIATE DEGREE

Downtown Milwaukee Campus

To prepare for a Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) career, learn the theoretical concepts and the clinical applications of procedures used to diagnose and relieve symptoms of cardiac (heart-related) pathologies.

Program applicants select either the invasive (Cardiac Catheterization Lab) or noninvasive (Echocardiography) subspecialty. After the first year of general CVT courses, each subspecialty focuses on its unique curriculum. Hands-on instruction occurs in campus labs and in hospitals.

Career Outlook: The continuing demand for CVTs indicates strong employment opportunities. The projected growth is attributed to an increase in cardiovascular disease and the aging population.

Career Pathway: You can earn the EKG Technician certificate on your way to completing this degree.
