Overview — This program is open to MATC Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement program students only. Completion of these courses and graduation from the CJ-LE associate degree program will allow you to become eligible for certification through the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board. Additional qualifications include:
- Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
- Must be legally able to handle or possess a firearm.
- Must complete a medical exam that allows participation in vigorous physical activity.
- Must undergo a criminal history/background check.
- Must have earned 15 credits within the MATC Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement associate degree program (technical courses with a GPA of 2.0 or better in each course) and consent of the Assistant Dean of the program.
- Approval for enrollment must be authorized by the Associate Dean of the Protective Services Division.
NOTE: Students must initiate request for the certificate upon completion of requirements. Completion means graduation from MATC with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement. Students requesting certification must do so through the CJ-LE office, Room A121 at the Oak Creek Campus.
