Building on the Momentum
With MATC's fall enrollment up about 10 percent from a year ago, more and more students are on the road to great careers and bright futures. I am sure you all agree that we have to keep that momentum going. People need jobs, and employers need skilled workers.

You can help by participating in our open house on Saturday, November 8, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus. This annual event, which has become an exciting showcase for MATC, gives us all a chance to talk one-on-one with potential students and show them how MATC can change their lives.

I encourage everyone at MATC to volunteer. Contact John Lopez at lopezj@matc.edu to get involved. Again, like last year, we expect another big turnout.

By the way, Marketing has developed colorful new information cards for all of our programs. If you need some for open house, be sure to order them now from Printing Services. They will be filling dozens of such orders from your friends and colleagues, so please allow three weeks for delivery.

As you will see in this month's issue of Communique, MATC is making a real difference in our community. Let's keep it going.

The College of Choice
Boldly challenging stereotypes, we have strived in recent years to position MATC as the college of first choice for bright, motivated and ambitious people. And it has paid off, judging from a recent satisfaction survey.

New Route North
Students now can ride a Milwaukee County Transit System bus to the Mequon Campus.

Discovering the MATC Advantage
Almost 100 high school counselors and teachers attended a recent MATC information day at Discovery World.

Economic Development Redefined
In our recruitment marketing, we have been challenging prospective students to "redefine smart" relative to choosing a two-year college. Now it's time to expand the invitation.

Farewell and Best Wishes
We all extend a fond farewell to LAS Interim Dean Dr. Deryl Davis-Fulmer, who recently accepted a top leadership position at Madison Area Technical College.

Safety Day Reaches Out
Hundreds of families visited Community Safety Day on September 27 at Oak Creek Campus.

Students Lead Graffiti Cleanup
Law Enforcement students last month helped West Allis and West Milwaukee police clean up graffiti and spark interest in criminal justice careers.
