Our Value Visible Far and Wide
At the heart of our mission, broken down to its basics, MATC enhances quality of life for our students and the community. These last few weeks have seen especially vivid evidence of our wide-ranging value:

  • "Express Ramp" welder training. In partnership with Bucyrus International, Inc., the Private Industry Council of Milwaukee County, and local community-based organizations, this new fast-track welding program aims to recruit and train up to 100 heavy-plate welders in the next six months.
  • "The Making of Milwaukee." This milestone achievement by Milwaukee Public Television, shown over three evenings, showcased the type of local, high-quality, culturally rich programming that only MPTV can deliver.
  • Four-year transfer leadership. At our recent Transfer Days, hundreds of students gained valuable transfer information from representatives of 30 four-year colleges and universities.
  • ECAM. The center for Energy Conservation and Advanced Manufacturing is in full construction mode at the Oak Creek Campus. To see this much-needed project take shape is exciting.

This issue of Communique contains many, many more examples, in which many of you have played big parts. Remember, you can make a difference. You do make a difference, as part of the MATC team.
