Calendar Closes on Successful 2008
As the calendar closes quickly on 2008, some personal thoughts . . . Because of your efforts, MATC made enormous progress this year.

We moved forward with a much-needed addition to the West Allis Campus. ECAM had a highly successful opening semester at the Oak Creek Campus. Our wind turbine at the Mequon Campus began generating power. The VICOM program made quite a splash through the acquisition of motion capture software for 3-D animation. Our annual open house drew record attendance. Fall semester full-time-equivalent enrollment surged by 10 percent.

And this is only a partial list of achievements. Congratulations to all!

More than ever, MATC is a lifeline and a pathway to a new and better life. Thousands of area residents rely on us. The targeted skills training we provide is essential during the current economic troubles. We are privileged to work at an institution that makes such a powerful difference to so many individuals, families and the community.

Many, many challenges lie ahead. Yet, at this time of year, it is nice to be able to look back, reflect, and find a measure of satisfaction in how we conducted ourselves as people and professionals. A happy holiday season to all. Enjoy your time with family and friends. I look forward to the start of the spring semester on January 21.
