MATC’s nursing programs were last accredited by ACEN in 2016, said Annette Ries, director of the college’s nursing programs.
ACEN is recognized as an accrediting body by the U.S. Department of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. ACEN is one of the largest specialized accrediting agencies, accrediting nursing programs throughout the United States and its territories, as well as internationally.
During an accreditation visit, the quality of programs is evaluated by a group of peer evaluators during an in-person visit. ACEN accreditation means that a nursing program meets a set of standards and delivers quality education. To date, ACEN has accredited more than 1,400 programs across the globe.
