'Green Vehicles Workshop and Showcase' Held April 21 at MATC's Downtown Milwaukee Campus

The 12th annual “Green Vehicles Workshop and Showcase” was held April 21 at Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus. The event featured a morning workshop and a display of vehicles that utilize green technologies in the afternoon.

The workshop featured panel discussions on vehicle fuel trends, smart fleets of the future and vehicle technologies. It also provided opportunities to network with local fleet managers, businesspersons and consumers, and to offer input on alternative fuels.

Sessions included:

Session One: Vehicle Fuel Trends
"Economic Trend Analysis of Whole Oil Industry” – Marquette University representative
"Electric Vehicle Changes & Trends” – Drive Smart America representative

Session Two: Smart Fleets of the Future
"Time Transport” – Lisa Morris
"Outpost Natural Foods” – Jessy Servi
“Wisconsin State Energy Office” – Maria Redmond

Session Three: Vehicle Technologies
“Tesla Motors” – Marshall Auto Body representative
“Certified Vehicle Technologies” – Advanced VTech representative

Among the vehicles on display were a CNG (compressed natural gas) Honda Civic, an electric motorcycle, a CNG police interceptor, a Ford C-Max Energi PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), a Nissan LEAF and Tesla Model S.

The workshop and green vehicles showcase were co-hosted by MATC and Wisconsin Clean Cities.
