About the Aesthetician Diploma

wc-school_seal_blue-Learn advanced skincare techniques and work with clients at Skyn – the Spa at MATC Mequon, the state-of-the-art facility located on campus. This program is in compliance with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. You will become eligible to take the state board aesthetician licensing examination, and work in upscale spas or alongside medical professionals.

Employment opportunities include day spas, salons, resorts and fitness centers.

After earning this diploma, you can apply your credits toward earning the Aesthetician Skin Care Therapist associate degree.

Additional program details: Instruction includes consultations; skin analysis; anatomy and physiology of the skin; effects of aging, skin diseases and disorders; facial and body treatments; benefits and use of machines; makeup techniques; color analysis; advanced techniques of microdermabrasion and chemical exfoliation; creating a business plan; and the study of Wisconsin laws, safety and sanitation.

In addition to tuition and textbooks, students will need to purchase a tool/equipment kit.

Aesthetician Skin Care Therapist

Learn advanced aesthetic topics including spa wellness (oncology aesthetics, aromatherapy, reflexology and Reiki Master), advanced hair removal, advanced exfoliation (dermaplaning, layered chemical peels and HydraFacial), lash extensions, microblading and aesthetic machines. Get hands-on learning at Skyn – the Spa at MATC Mequon.

Cosmetology

Use your talents to work in the cosmetology profession. This program, which is in compliance with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, can be completed in one year to 18 months, including attendance in summer. Graduates are eligible to take the state board licensing examination.

Scholarships

Admission Requirements

  • Complete the Aesthetician Program Orientation to register for courses.
  • Currently licensed aestheticians may be eligible for advanced standing.
  • Graduates of the MATC Cosmetology technical diploma program who plan to complete this Aesthetician program may transfer credits from duplicate courses.
