Civil Engineering Technology

This program prepares engineering technicians to assist civil engineers in planning, designing, scheduling, estimating, surveying and inspecting construction projects. These projects include highways, bridges, buildings, water systems, land development and other projects. Also, specific elective surveying courses provide the student with an option for a career in land surveying.
Career Outlook: Civil engineering technicians and surveying technicians are needed in all phases of project development. Employers include municipal engineering departments, civil engineering consulting firms, structural design firms, land surveying companies, highway departments, construction companies and public utilities.
