As part of an active student life, MATC offers two creative outlets for students interested in the production of quality publications.
The MATC Times (http://matctimes360.com/) is the college's twice-monthly, award-winning student newspaper. It covers the four major campuses and many student issues. The paper has earned Pacemaker awards (the most recent in 2003), identifying it as one of the country's very best two-year college newspapers. If you have an interest in journalism, news or feature writing, graphic arts and design, photography, advertising, or just want to get involved in a fun, deadline-driven atmosphere, The MATC Times has a spot for you on its staff. The newspaper office is located in Room S220 of the Downtown Milwaukee Campus. Interested students can walk in or call 414-297-7824.
For students with a more artistic/literary sense, the English Department sponsors The Phoenix. The annual magazine showcases student prose, poetry, art and photography.
