Note: Federal regulations regarding student loan disbursements

  • If you are receiving a one-semester loan, your loan must be made in two equal disbursements.

Financial Aid Census Date

Financial aid payments will be disbursed based on the number of credits that you are enrolled in on the census date. After this date, adjustments will not be made if you add or drop credits. You are highly encouraged to register for all classes for the semester prior to the census date as no award adjustments will be made after the census date. Your financial aid award will be recalculated for any class(es) that are recorded as "dropped" (D) or "withdrawn" (W) and the reason is "never attended". You may be required to repay the financial aid that you receive if you drop a class(es), your instructor drops your class(es), you never attend a class(es) and/or if you discontinue attending a class(es).

Financial Aid End of the 60% Period

If you withdraw or your instructor withdraws you from all your classes before this date, you may be required to repay a portion of the financial aid funds you received. Total withdrawal after this date will not require repayment, unless the withdrawal reason was "never attended".

Financial Aid Disbursements

Initial grants, scholarships and loan disbursements are made as indicated in the above schedule. Any funds that are remaining after all your charges have been paid will be mailed to you the following Wednesday. Subsequently, disbursement will continue each Wednesday and balance checks mailed the following Wednesday. If financial aid does not cover the entire amount owed to MATC, you are responsible to immediately pay any remaining balance.

+ Disbursement for first-time, first-year loan borrowers
