A Nursing Assistant is an important entry-level bedside caregiver in health care facilities and home health services. Typical job titles include nursing assistant, nurse's aide, orderly and attendant. All work under the supervision of licensed medical personnel, primarily registered nurses or licensed practical nurses. Competency evaluations required by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services are not included in this program. Core skills include a sincere concern for people, good physical and emotional health, and the ability to communicate effectively. Expect to do some lifting. Job prospects are excellent.
