Mechanical Design Technology is an associate degree program designed to prepare you for employment as a mechanical drafter/designer. You will learn how to solve design problems in product manufacturing by using CADD (computer-aided design and drafting) systems. Employment is favorable for mechanical drafters/designers having current training, especially with CADD systems. Core skills include one year of high school algebra, the ability to grasp spatial relationships and analytical skills, manual dexterity, good hand/eye coordination, and an interest in working with tools.
