Fashion/Retail Marketing is a two-year associate degree program that prepares you for a career in stores, specialty shops and boutiques. Fashion marketing courses emphasize the creative aspects of selling apparel, and the retail management courses emphasize the managerial and financial aspects of more general retailing. Trained fashion/retail applicants are continually recruited for supervisory, management, and merchandising positions at stores ranging from huge discounters to fashion boutiques. Job responsibilities vary with career emphasis; however, typical positions include visual merchandiser, sales representative, buyer, district/divisional manager and store manager. Core skills include an ability to communicate verbally and in writing, a high level of self- initiative, and creativity.
